We have included in our products the following; Shea Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, Argan Oil, Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Below we explain the benefits of these ingredients.

Shea Butter – For Hair
Soothes Dry and Irritated Scalp:
Shea butter is effective in soothing a dry itchy scalp or dandruff. It possesses anti-inflammatory qualities and gets absorbed into the skin without leaving a greasy residue or clogging the pores. Being rich in vitamins A and E, it soothes dryness, repairs breakage and mends split ends.
Hence, it is extremely effective in providing relief against dry scalp, dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis.
Moisturiser:
The presence of vitamins A and E makes shea butter an excellent moisturiser to moisturise your hair from roots to tips. Thus, it can be used as a natural conditioner. It is highly effective in locking in moisture without leaving the hair greasy or heavy. Shea butter has wide usage in curly hair treatments due to its emollient qualities. A number of chemical treatments like straighteners, perms, curlers etc are responsible for stripping off natural moisture from the hair. Shea butter can help restore this lost moisture.
Hair Protection:
Shea butter provides protection to the hair against the harmful free radicals in the air and water and harsh weather conditions. Moreover, shea butter has low amount of SPF which is sufficient enough to protect the hair from sun damage caused due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation and repairs the damage that has already been caused by harsh weather and sun. This is largely due to the fact that once absorbed, shea butter coats the hair shaft so that it is protected from a heat tool or any other damaging material being passed along the hair. This is particularly beneficial for processed or coloured hair. It also protects the hair against salt and chlorine when applied before swimming.
Hair Softener:
Shea butter is great for softening and revitalizing damaged and brittle hair. Due to its non-greasy nature, it helps to control and spread excess oil in the scalp. Massaging the hair with generous amounts of shea butter can give soft and silky tresses. This benefit of shea butter is applicable for dry as well as fragile curly hair. Shea butter should be applied twice a week for hair growth, improving hair texture and moisturising the hair.
Coconut oil is an oil that provides excellent deep conditioning properties. Bursting with fortifying fatty acids, studies show coconut oil actually penetrates the hair shaft and reduces protein loss. These fatty acids are proven to enhance and strengthen the hair shaft reducing tangles. It is also recommended for the control of dry scalp and dandruff as it contains antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. It kills the yeasts that cause seborrheic dermatitis and ringworm (tinea capitis), two causes of itchy scalp. Add coconut oil to your shampoo for special nourishing and softening benefits.

Vitamin E – Grows Hair
Because it causes capillary growth, vitamin E can help hair to grow. The increased circulation speeds the growth of hair in many people. The additional nutrition can prevent split ends, help heal hair damaged by excessive use of a hair dryer, and cure dry hair as well.
Vitamin E Heals Dry Hair
Vitamin E can be used as a leave-on conditioner for dry and damaged hair. A small amount daily will treat dry hair and heal the hair shafts. It is always better to add nutrition to the diet, but for those with very dry hair and scalp, adding a small amount of vitamin E to the hair after shampooing will remedy dry hair, if not treat the cause. To treat the cause, the vitamins need to be taken internally. To make a healing mask of vitamin E, cut open a number of capsules with a small scissors and blend into the hair. Completely cover the ends of the hair, so it feels oily. Leave on for an hour or longer, and then shampoo out for silky, manageable hair.
Jojoba Oil is a good oil that provides great benefits for the hair and the skin which is why it is a common ingredient in many hair care products. Jojoba has many therapeutic properties that can not only protect but also improve damaged hair. The natural oil improves hair by both preventing moisture loss and balancing the production of the scalp’s natural oil, sebum, to a healthy level. This means that jojoba will help the scalp produce the right amount of sebum to prevent dry or oily hair.
Moroccans have been using Argan oil as a treatment in hair and skin care products for centuries. The oil is high in unsaturated fatty acids and rich in Omega 9 – shown to be helpful at improving hair strength and health. Its’ primary benefit seems to come from its ability to naturally hydrate and to help stop frizziness, fly-away and hard to control, unmanageable hair. Similar in properties to Jojoba oil – Argan oil has been shown to penetrate the hair shaft and almost instantly improve follicle elasticity and increase nourishment.
Castor oil works to coat the hair shaft and smooth the cuticle layer, sealing in moisture and leaving the hair feeling soft and silky. It is more easily absorbed by the hair, allowing for deeper penetration into the hair shaft. Castor oil also helps the hair to grow. Regularly applying Castor oil to your scalp and roots will help promote regrowth of hair. It is also reported to help thicken hair that is thinning out.
Benefits of Using Olive Oil on your Hair
Dandruff treatments – Dandruff is usually caused when the scalp becomes dry and flaky, causing those unsightly white flakes. Olive oil is a natural moisturizer. When massaged into the scalp it will moisturize your scalp, reducing the appearance of your dandruff naturally, with no chemically laden shampoos. Use the treatment as often as needed until the problem fades and then just once or twice a week to keep it from reoccurring.

Using olive oil on just the ends of your hair moisturizes those brittle ends, and will help smooth down the split ends, taming the frizz and the flyaway hairs. Use it after styling on just the ends of your hair to tame your hair. This works great in the winter when hair tends to be dryer and this solution is perfect for those who routinely flat iron their hair. When used after straightening your hair, olive oil will hold give moisture and a bit of weight to the ends, keeping your hair looking smooth.
Adds Shine – Healthy hair has a natural shine. Damaged and dry hair looks dull and lifeless but you can bring your hair back to life with olive oil. When used as a conditioner olive oil infuses your hair with moisture, restoring it to a healthy and beautiful looking shine.
