Q: My daughter’s hair is always dry and is not growing (Nicole)

Ans: Our hair is naturally curl coarse & dry. Because of the curls it is harder for oils to travel to the end of the hair. Since your daughter’s hair is dry you must do the following;

  • Spitz the hair in morning & and evening lightly with water and sometimes with Aloe.

  • Rub the nakedhaircare product into the damp hair and style as usual. In the night, tie hair with satin head scarf, or bonnet. Use a good conditioner every 1 – 2 weeks during washing.

  • Use shampoo sparingly about every 4 to 6 weeks. Over shampooing dry the hair.

  • When time permits rub NakedHairCare product into damp hair and cover with a plastic heat cap for as long as required.

Q: What is the best way to store your products?

Ans:

  • It is recommended to store below 30c and out of sunlight.

  • Keeping them in the refrigerator will also extend their shelf life. We suggest that you order what you need and then use within 3-6 months. Also:

  • Do not leave product containers uncapped.

  • Only touch product with clean hands or use a applicator.

Q: When can we expect our delivery to arrive?

Ans: Full turn around time, including packaging and shipping is within five days. For most cases it is less.

 Q: Why the decision to use just natural and organic ingredients for your hair care products?

Ans: Simply because these work best for our natural dry hair condition, reduce breakage and promote natural hair growth.  The majority of products out there that are targeted for black women contain ingredients that do not add any benefit to our hair but give an elusive shine. What’s even more shocking is that many of these ingredients have the potential to be harmful to your health. For example a recent study on parabens; which is a common preservative in most hair and skin products was found in 18 out of 20 breast cancer tumours. Parabens also have hormone-disrupting qualities — mimicking estrogen — and interfere with the body’s endocrine system. This proves the ability for synthetic preservatives to penetrate the skin and enter into the blood stream and interfere with the human body cycle. This shows that what you put on your skin/scalp is just as important as what you eat, or even more so, as what you eat, the digestive system is able to produce specific enzymes to break down these toxins and excrete them. This is something that doesn’t readily occur when you absorb them through the skin.

Q: What is the Difference between Organic and natural ingredients in body care products?

Ans: Though similar in nature as they comprise of the same things, Organic ingredients are generally unaltered, untreated and have been certified by an organic certification body. This certifying body has ensured that the organic ingredients were cultivated without using synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and other synthetic chemicals. Natural products on the other hand are derived from natural sources i.e. plants, minerals or algae. An example are some emulsifying waxes. They may be made from plant materials, perhaps even from 100 % organic plant materials, but have been processed so much to extract the waxy compounds, it can no longer be referred to as “organic”.

Q: Are your products certified organic?

Ans: At the moment, our products are not certified organic, however the ingredients  that are used are labelled organic and have been individually certified by accredited organisations.
